AI in education: policy, faculty practice, and student literacy

Helping schools and universities adopt AI thoughtfully, with clear policy, confident faculty, and students who use it responsibly.

Listening before designing

At Tashkent International School, our committee began with listening sessions to understand teachers' experience with AI, what they understood about it, and how they felt about it. We used those findings to design a workshop showing each department how to use AI and how to teach students to use it in their learning. I also helped write the school's AI and digital policy framework for K–12.

Building faculty capacity

At Abu Dhabi Polytechnic, I partner with faculty to integrate AI appropriately into their course design and teaching, and I help shape institutional AI policy and academic quality standards. I also designed an AI in Teaching & Assessment workshop for schools, covering AI in lesson planning and grading, hands-on practice with AI tools, and ethical, responsible use.

Supporting students

I work with Abu Dhabi Polytechnic's Student Learning Center to build students' AI literacy and support responsible AI use across the university.

Research

My Ed.D. research at Johns Hopkins examines gender and regional disparities in access to digital literacy in Uzbekistan.
